program equips, encourages, and empowers local leaders by providing Biblical conferences and classes, and economic support through micro-loans and business training throughout Boneza. We continue to increase Pastoral care efforts through social services outreach to families and children.

Pastoral Outreach
Our Call
In 2011, God sent John Gasangwa to the shores of Lake Kivu to a village called Boneza. It was there that God planted a seed in the heart of this young man that would change his life forever. It not only changed his life but would change the lives of 26,000 people who called Boneza their home. Arise Rwanda Ministries was founded and today that vision burns with passion as it fulfills God’s purpose.
Our Goal
To answer the call of Jesus Christ to love, equip, and serve the people of Boneza by joining them on their journey out of poverty and leading them to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The vision is big and requires visionary leadership as well as a joint effort with the pastors and churches that call Boneza their home. Through this vision, we started our Pastoral Care and Outreach program. It is headed up by one of our staff members, Pastor Arsene Manzi. Pastor Manzi has done an amazing job of helping to bring the pastors and churches together to serve as a spiritual team to reach the community of Boneza.

To Develop
ongoing relationships with pastors and community leaders.
To Facilitate
conferences, outreach and training for local pastors and community leaders.
To Provide
strong leadership through team leadership, strategic planning and mentorship to local pastors and community leaders.
To Recruit
young men and women from Kivu Hills Academy and the local churches to be a part of a mentorship program that will equip and train them to be the leaders of tomorrow.

Bibles In Boneza
Our goal is to provide a Bible to every family in Boneza. There are around 8,500 households in Boneza, many of which currently don’t own a Bible. We are working with American Bible Society and Bible Society of Rwanda to help make this happen. You can make an immediate impact by gifting a Bible by donating just $10.
