Hello, my name is Beatrice,

I am a student at Kivu Hills Academy (KHA) and studying masonry and construction. My dream is to be a civil engineer one day. I also enjoy singing and dancing, which I’m able to do a lot of at KHA!

I live in Boneza in the Rutsiro District. Along with my parents, I live with seven siblings. I am the last born of the family. The community of Boneza is small with around 30,000 people. The majority of the people in Boneza are farmers, including my father and mother. Most of the people in my community live on $1 day.

I feel very blessed to be a part of KHA learning a trade that I can use for the rest of my life. My education has changed my life, and it’s only possible because of the generous support I’ve been given. In my community, many cannot attend school because their families can’t afford it.

Please consider extending education throughout Boneza by providing a student scholarship. Each scholarship provides a full year of curriculum and books, three meals everyday, dorm accommodations, salaries for our teachers, access to the library, and extracurricular activities. It also extends hope to students, their families, and the community, and gives us skills to use for a lifetime.
