Our vision, mission, and motivation is based on the call of Jesus Christ to serve others.
Rwanda, one of the most beautiful countries in sub-Saharan Africa, is often called the “Switzerland of Africa”. Rwanda is about the size of the state of Maryland. It is one of the most heavily populated countries on the continent with eleven million people. Also called the “Land of a Thousand Hills” because of its hilly terrain, most of its people farm the land on steep, terraced slopes.

Since 2011,
Arise Rwanda Ministries has focused its efforts and resources on the community of Boneza in the Western Province of Rwanda. Located on the shores of Lake Kivu, Boneza’s villagers are primarily agrarian, tending their personal gardens for their family food as well as larger plots of tea, coffee, bananas, and potatoes for trade.
This beautiful region
is rich in human resources but underdeveloped in the areas of education, clean and safe water, economic development, and essential infrastructure. Our mission is to work with community leaders in identifying priorities to build hope, health, and sustainable progress for the people of Boneza.
Looking Back
The reconciliation
of the people of Rwanda is one of the greatest stories of forgiveness in modern history.
Rwanda frequently conjures up memories of the 1994 Genocide where over one million people were systematically killed in just 120 days. The incredible horror of that Genocide, nearly three decades ago, has been replaced by a strong, forward-thinking and determined government bent on removing corruption and rebuilding with a proud national confidence. Today, Rwanda is increasingly becoming one of the most prosperous nations in sub-Saharan Africa.
