17 Years Old
Lives in Boneza, Rwanda
Student at Kivu Hills Academy
Education Level: 3

Faradji is a 17 year old Level 3 Masonry student at Kivu Hills Academy. He joined the school because he had a passion for learning practical courses. He comes from a family of four siblings and his father works in a hospital. His father is the sole bread winner and his mother manages the home. After his studies, Faradji hopes to give back to his family because of the sacrifices they’ve made for his education. He plans to pay his siblings’ school fees in the future. He says he is thankful to God for what He has done for him and he believes after his education is complete he will be in a better position to pursue his goals.

Faradji has been at Kivu Hills Academy for one year but he states with emotion that he’s noticed a cognitive change in himself. He has found a lot of real-world application from his studies and understands the importance of his lessons. Faradji is now learning construction and enjoys making drawings of buildings. He adds that he enjoys his drawing courses because it is a something he can passionately work on at any time.

To Faradji, education doesn’t stop in the classroom. It goes as far as hygiene, discipline, social etiquette and communication. He believes he has build deeper relationships by learning and applying these skills. Faradji is now a very disciplined student because he gained a respect for culture at Kivu Hills Academy. From the KHA model of “teach a man to fish…” the other entrepreneurial skills he is learning at KHA will help him to survive well in his future.
