Hello everyone, my name is Elyse.

I live in the western part of Rwanda with my mother and 2 siblings. Like much of the community, my mother is a farmer and she grows different crops like beans, cassava, maize, peas, and coffee. Her earnings are modest – we live on $1 a day. That said, my mother and I are very grateful for the tuition assistance I have received to attend Kivu Hills Academy (KHA). My education is very important to me.

I am a student at KHA and my choice of study is computer science. I enjoy my studies and have learned a lot about maintaining and repairing computers, security, and setting up networks.

In my free time, I have several hobbies. I enjoy playing basketball and volleyball, and I love that I am able to play these sports at KHA with my friends. I also love photography and would like to spend more time on this hobby.

My dream is to become an IT Engineer, and also a great photographer!
